About This Natural Enemy

Natural Enemy Description
Orius spp. Predatory bug primarily for thrips, and also feeds on aphids, mites and other pests and on pollen. Adults feed on all mobile stages of thrips. Nymphs feed on thrips larvae. Orius eat pollen, which enables them to survive in pollen bearing plants without the presence of thrips. Orius are used in banker plants. Suggested optimum temperature of 70-90F. Can be used with Amblyseius cucumeris also known as Neoseiulus cucumeris and Amblyseius swirskii. Some species of Orius enter diapause (hibernation) in the fall when daylength is short and evening temperatures drop.
