Name About Pest
Millipedes Monitor soil (ground beds) for millipedes and signs of damage. Millipedes are about an inch long with many short legs and short antennae, dark in color and have hard, cylindrical many-segmented bodies and curl up tightly when disturbed. Millipedes feed on decaying organic matter and mix it through the soil and are usually considered beneficial, however they can cause plant damage. In wet areas where millipede populations are high enough, they can eat new growth and roots.
